The Sterix System

THE STERIX SYSTEM

Just like many of our commercial and residential customers, we are very concerned with using pest management procedures that do not harm the environment. That's why we designed our pest management system after the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach as well as the HACCP method. This means that we use pesticides only when necessary, and incorporate as many non-chemical control measures as we can.

IPM is a pest control approach that uses one or a combination of several strategies such as proofing, sanitation, training, monitoring, mechanical trapping, chemical intervention, and other methods to suppress pest populations.

IPM Manufacturing Level Objectives

  • To orient our clients' employees and introduce to them the concept of IPM
  • To adopt IPM for each critical function
  • To conduct an inspection of each facility which serve as basis for the program (fitting)
  • To conform the manufacturing plant to the IPM program
  • To devise a plant GMP or HACCP Plan

HACCP is Food Safety methodology that relies on the identification of Critical Control Points (CCP's) in food production and preparation processes. The CCPs are the closely monitored in order to ensure that food is safe for consumption.

To date, STERIX is the only food safety company in the Philippines with HACCP accreditation, which is the world standard in environmentally-friendly pest control and prevention.
